HOW TO MAKE AN ORAL REHYDRATION SOLUTION (ORS) AT HOME

If you have severe diarrhea or vomiting, your body will lose fluids, which can lead to dehydration. If so, you'll notice increased thirst, dry mouth, sleepiness, less frequent urination, dark yellow urine, headache, dry skin, and dizziness. If you experience any of these symptoms then its likely you are dehydrating so i am going to take you through some easy steps to manage that at home.

Oral rehydration solution(ORS) is a special drink made up of sugar, salt, and clean water. It can help replace fluid loss from severe diarrhea or vomiting. Studies have shown ORS to be as effective as intravenous fluid administration when treating dehydration. In Ghana some of the ORS products we find on the market are Andrews liver salt®, Martins liver salt®, etc. Even though one can rehydrate with these purchased  packets mentioned ,you can also make ORS drinks at home using clean water, salt, and sugar.

So I am going to take you through some simple steps that u can use in making your own Oral Rehydration Solution(ORS) when at home in case you cannot make it to the hospital.

#STEP 1 .WASH YOUR HANDS:

Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water before preparing the drink. Make sure you have a clean pitcher or bottle ready.

#STEP 2. GATHER THE INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE YOUR OWN ORS SOLUTION:

Table salt (such as iodized salt or sea salt) clean water granulated or powdered sugar.

#STEP 4. MIX THE DRY INGREDIENTS WITH WATER :

Add one liter of clean drinking water. If you cannot measure out a liter, add 5 cups of water. The water can be bottled water or recently boiled and cooled water. Make sure you don't add any extra sugar.

#STEP 5.  STIR WELL AND DRINK: Use a spoon or whisk to mix the ORS powder into the water. After a minute or more vigorous stirring, the solution should be completely dissolved. Now, it is ready to drink. The ORS solution can be refrigerated for 24 hours. Do not store it any longer.

How To Draw An Eyebrow- The Perfect Arc

Drawing an eyebrow is somehow a challenge for ladies who are into making up recently. We all want to draw a perfect eyebrow or get that perfect cut as some professionals will say but often end up not pleasing our work. We again spend a lot in getting help from people good at making up so as to get that perfect arc for our outings and programmes. Well, here is a solution to ladies interested in makeup.

From a professional student makeup artist, here are some few steps to follow so as to draw a perfect arc.

First, you need to brush the eyebrow in the shape of the angle or arc you want and then, using a pencil, line up according to the angle of the arc.

You then line down according to the same preferred arc and blend it together from the middle.

After drawing and blending together, you then conceal your drawn brow with a concealer brush using a concealer that matches your colour. Voila! You get that perfect brow of your choice.

How To Wear Make-Up

Makeup is aimed at enhancing ones beauty. There are a few steps to follow to achieve a flawless and natural look.
Step 1: Cleanse your face. This is done to get rid of dirt and sweat from the facial skin. It is advisable to use very mild products since the skin of the face is delicate

Step 2: Moisturize. Use a product that is natural based. This is done to keep the skin hydrated, soft, smooth and healthy.

Step 3: Prime. Using a face primer creates a perfect canvas for your makeup application. It also combats shine and makes your makeup stay longer.

Step 4: Fill in your brow and define it with concealer, a shade lighter than your skin tone.

Step 5: Use an eye shadow base and dab a tint of nude, soft pink or bronzy pigment on your eyelid. These colours are perfect for a day look. Don’t forget to blend! That is the secret to a beautiful eye shadow application. Use mascara.

Step 6: Apply your foundation using a dabbing motion. Blend the makeup all over your face and down towards the neck to eliminate foundation lines close to the jaw line and neck.

Step 7: Set your foundation with your faced powder preferably loose powder evenly. A tint of powder is enough.

Step 8: Blush up your cheek with a dab of blush in coral, deep pink or peach depending on your skin tone. Apply highlighter along the top of your cheekbones, on the cupids bow, chin and swipe a contour powder along the sides of your nose, your hairline and hollows of your cheekbones. This is done to define the face structure.

Step 9: Using a lip brush, swipe on a natural rosy pink, red or nude lipstick and line your lips.

Step 10: Set your makeup with a makeup setting spray and you are good to go!

Step 1: This is one of the most important step of the art. Always arrive at the bus stop or station early enough to be finicky. Never ever be in a rush to board a Trotro. The delicate nature of this art form may leave you with regrets if you ignore this rule.

Step 2: Much like Kung Fu and Taekwondo, this art form demands some amount of inner peace. To enable you do this effectively, crosscheck every morsel you have to the last penny. A little  lapse in concentration may just leave you devastated and living outside your budget.

Step 3: Spot your prey. In this case I mean the bus going to the destination you intend.

Step 4: Gun them down. Stick your hand out and in a rapid up-down motion, call out the name of your destination after the bus conductor and bring him to a stop. If you fail this step, you can always redo it with different other preys that may decide to come your way.

Step 5: After successfully completing stage 4, make sure that you board the bus with whatever bag or luggage, ideally in front of you. Settle down and be comfortable because you're probably going to pay for it.

Step 6: This is perhaps the most important stage of all. If you're not asked by the bus conductor to pay your money, relax, he probably has not forgotten. But in the case that he actually does forget, do what your conscience may be able to handle. Might I remind you of the golden rule of this step.

NEVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER LEAVE YOUR CHANGE WITH THE BUS CONDUCTOR NO MATTER HOW SMALL IT IS BUT ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO BARGAIN YOUR WAY OUT WHEN THE PRICES SEEM TOO UNREASONABLE.

Step 7: This is the final step in the art of boarding trotro in Ghana. Make sure you give the bus conductor, enough time to stop the bus at a reasonable bus stop when you get to your destination. This means that announcing your intention early enough to serve as leverage in case the bus conductor decides to be a silly goose.

That’s the art form, pretty much summarised in 7 simple, doable steps.
